About Ari Herzog

by Ari Herzog on May 1, 2007

Ariwriter.com is where I write about social media and online marketing, providing advice to businesses, organizations, and individuals about the benefits of social networking and new media.

My headshotMy name is Ari Herzog and I am a social media consultant and online journalist. Beginning with my first published byline 18 years ago, I never stopped writing as a community journalist, government policy analyst, and web author.

I created the name, “ariwriter,” as part of my email address in 2001. After writing hundreds of daily and weekly stories, it was natural to continue writing online under the moniker.

Most recently, I gained considerable experience working in the public sector. I served in senior management roles with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Economic Development and in Newburyport City Hall, and earned a master’s in public administration.

You might know me for creating the Twitter Fan Wiki for U.S. Government, the definitive guide of federal agencies, legislators, and employees who use the microblogging tool.

I use my expertise to help government, business, and organizational leaders narrow the digital divide by leveraging Web 2.0 tools to enhance cross-agency collaboration, knowledge management, branding, authenticity, and transparency.

I’d enjoy speaking to you about how I can help build and manage your online community. You can reach me through my LinkedIn profile or by filling out this contact form.
