Thinking about words over the past 24 hours–due to National Grammar Day and a random factoid I’d never know without Nancy Friedman’s tweet–my mind drifted higher into the cosmos and I decided I should dazzle you with a picture.
Pictures speak 1,000 words, right? Have a look:

Pictures inspire me for different reasons; and it is my hope that you walk away (or click away, as it may be) from each blog post of mine with a more profound appreciation for something you may not see somewhere else.
This Photoshopped image speaks about the danger of global warming to me. It also reminds me that my next blog post will be about the art of selecting photographs and sharing my arsenal of free photo repositories.

It’s strange, but the image that accompanies a blog post can be a big factor at attracting my attention on new blogs. I know this is stupid, and that the content is the most important thing.
But if I see a blog post that the author has put some thought into what image actually suits the post and is a little out of the ordinary, to me that says “effort”. And that usually means the content is going to be worth it as well.

Pictures work wonders for me too. I was visiting a blog post last week that talked about….hmmm, I now forget what the topic was, but the image was that of a shiny tongue and mouth. I clicked away before reading more than 2 words because the picture just disturbed me.
