From Alaska to All Over: Sarah Palin in Social Media

by Ari Herzog on November 13, 2008 · 1 comment

Beginning the day after Election Day and lasting until seven days later on November 12, my blog’s analytics indicate 282 pageviews of my August 29, 2008 article: Wanna Know Where to Find Palin Online?

The average viewer remained on the page for 2 minutes and 47 seconds, and 6 people posted comments since November 5.

The election may be over but Palin is very much alive – especially on AriWriter.

I’m nothing compared to the Google index for Sarah Palin in August:

  • 470,000 hits on Google Web Search
  • 30,000 hits on Google Blog Search
  • 10,000 hits on Google Image
  • 9,100 hits on Google News

Google inflates the number of its results but the oohs and aahs are more impressive when you compare August’s statistics with today:

  • 155 million hits on Google Web Search
  • 1.6 million hits on Google Blog Search
  • 4.1 million hits on Google Image
  • 145,000 hits on Google News

I don’t know what Alaska’s Governor is doing these days but she’s very much alive in social media. Are you writing about her, too?

Of course Sarah Palin was the most searched! She is such a bright spot in American politics! I have a Sarah Palin calendar, and every day when I look at it I’m newly inspired to do good on her behalf! I just think she is so wonderful! (the calendar by the way, is on amazon, and is GORGEOUS!! it also makes a great gift!!)
