Funny you should bring up this topic. Just this past month I began receiving Friend requests on Facebook from old high school pals and even some of my teachers. Hate to admit it, but we're going back like 30 years!

You know what? It's been great! I've loved hearing about my old friends and seeing how they've turned out. And I've enjoyed filling them in on my life.

I look upon it as having all the fun of a reunion but without the hassle of having to go on a starvation diet for the month before.

Kathleen, I've seen a resurgence in Classmates.com among your and older generations. Might be worth a look there.

For the "YOUGUNS" it may help. But, for my age group, graduated H.S,. in 1968, it sure doesn't. I have checked many times for people from my high school, on Facebook, and came up with 0. Today, I checked, and came up with 1 person. I think the name is familiar. Anyway, I sent him a note and invitaion to join me.
Our class had over 400 people, come on! I can't have a Facebook class reunion this way! Maybe a one person reunion! Ha!

I agree that Facebook won't replace the reunion, but it can take the surprise out of the reunion. I am 5 yrs out of HS, and although I haven't had a reunion yet, I do get the regular updates from friends, acquaintances, people I just know by face from Facebook. It probably takes a the surprise factor and anticipation out of a reunion. I know some friends who have had 5 yr reunions and this is what they told me because they know what people look like and what they are up to. Maybe 5 yrs out isn't long enough anyways for a true reunion. I guess I'll have to wait another 5 yrs to see.
