How to Let Down Your Corporate Hair

by Ari Herzog on December 10, 2009 · 3 comments

With a hat tip to Danny Brown for sharing holiday cheer in the form of a video greeting card by his marketing services employer, Maritz Canada, I realized I have similar organizational videos bookmarked and figured now’s a good a time as any to share my favorite videos with you.

Note: These aren’t typical corporate videos and they’re not the type you’ll ever see on your boob tube. But if you want to see employees letting down their hair to show themselves and the world they know what it means to work and have fun, have a watch of these videos in no particular order…

Maritz is up first with the snow globe:

Connected Ventures, an online content provider, is next with a lip dub to Harvey Danger‘s 1998 song (and one of my favorites), Flagpole Sitta’:

Rebecca Corliss and the inbound marketing gang at HubSpot claim third with a salute to Alanis Morissette:

Across the Atlantic Pond hails one of my favorite creative videos from England’s Creative Juices:

When employees let their hair lose for a management-sanctioned video, that says a lot about the organizational culture. I can’t say the same for the U.S. General Services Administration which opted to hire actors for this announcement, though no less funny:

If you or your employees are not video-worthy (blasphemy!) or you’re not in the mood to be on video, at least decorate the office in a creative way and video it, as email marketing firm Bronto Software did with this recent Halloween piece:

I’ve made my share of funny videos, though more in bits of 12 seconds each.

And you? Do you have any videos to share this holiday season, whether corporately or individually yours or one you like?

I LOL’s at Rebecca’s Alanis Morissette video for about 10 minutes. If only I could be that funny…

The snow globe video is really interesting. I think it such nice and different greeting.

Hey there Ari, cheers for sharing the Snow Globe (and the others on here as well). It’s great to see companies that, like you say, aren’t afraid to let their hair down.

Cheers!
