In all seriousness, I remember working with a lady who during her presentations would say "um" twice per sentence, at minimum. It was awful. Sometimes I think the text messaging/IM generation is going to be challenged when formally writing, because they are getting used to abbreviating and emoticon-ing everything. My text messages tend to be long, but I would rather that than sound like I am still in high school. Like, you are totally right.
