My introduction to computers was in the early ’80s with a Texas Instruments system. No hard drive; just an expansion system for floppy disks, cartridges, and such.

Today’s youth are missing out on LOGO.

The really great thing about it was that it was the only thing like it. As a result, *everyone* was there. If you joined the forum on any subject, you were communicating with everyone in the English-speaking world with an interest in that subject.

BTW, even before CompuServe, almost 20 years ago I ran a major project, involving vendors and installations all over the country, with MCI Mail, which was a precursor to the email we have now.

Just to make the point in my original comment above, in the first sentence of this comment, I originally put angle brackets around the “n”. That is a common notation for a variable. But, it also looks like HTML. I confused the processor. It made me remove the angle brackets.

I do hear you on simpler days. I remember browsing webpages not just on Netscape 1.0 but also on Lynx, a text-based browser. And Gopher and Archie and Veronica and all the other VAX tools.

Text is best when displayed in narrow columns of dark letters on a light background; e.g., like a newspaper. Anything less makes it harder to read. There is a great deal of research related to textbooks that confirms this.

BTW, I was thinking of saying something diplomatic, but then thought better of it.

Time will tell whether I keep the “read more” aspect or go for a fuller look aka a newspaper.

But, I’m not a big fan of “Read More”. IMHO it prevents me reading ahead.
