Politics 2.0: Twitter + Current TV

McCain vs ObamaImage by Thomas Hawk via FlickrBarack Obama and John McCain are slated to meet tonight at the University of Mississippi and talk about foreign policy and national security, according to the Commission on Presidential Debates.

For the first time in history, anyone with a Twitter account can post a message with the #current hashtag, and as many tweets as possible will be transposed, in real-time, on Current TV’s broadcast of the debate.

Neat stuff, eh? Here’s a recent Current TV commercial about it:

If you’ve never heard of Current TV, it was co-founded by Al Gore in 2005.
