Do you recall my blog post two months back about the business importance of using Yelp as an economic development and tourism tool?
A member of the Yelp Elite Squad, indicative of my numerous reviews on the consumer review community, I received an email today providing information about a website feature to launch in the coming days:
As you can see, business owners (or anyone else who has the authority to “claim” a business on the site) will be able to publicly reply to comments, whether immediately or down the road. Currently, the only way a business can reply is via private messaging–which, if anyone has tried it, is a very clunky application.
I anticipate the feature, upon implementation, will appear on the Yelp blog.

I am really excited about this. This opens up a whole new level of interaction that restaurants and customers can have with each other. Now are there plans to tie this functionality across Facebook, and other social networks Ari?

I’m thrilled to see Yelp moving in this direction. I’m experiencing, in another industry, the same issue with customer reviews with no way for companies to thank or rebut. This is great news.
