Social Networking in Video

It is easy to forget the essence of social networking is about the people.

We build networks to connect with each other by common interests, activities, or experiences. Over time, the people we meet and embrace are the ones who work with us to organically create a sustainable community.

Sadly, we spend so much time intertwined with technology that it is easy to forget that we network to be loved.

I want to share with you two videos about social networking. Each provides unspoken commentary in different ways.

Up first, after receiving first place in a Cannes short film competition, “Historia de un letrero” comes to me via Robin Phillips at Brains on Fire.

The 4-minute film is about the random kindness that two people can share despite seemingly unconnected lives. By the time the end credits begin to roll, you will understand the power of compassion and love that bring people together.

The second video, via Principled Innovation TV, is about letting go. Sometimes we spend so much time wanting to be loved, we forget that the power of a network lives beyond the computer screen.

These videos moved me, and I wanted to share them with you.

Maybe you’ve already caught my happiness virus and care to share them on with your friends? Feel free to click on the “Bookmark” button below to access your favorite social network.
